Influencia de dos estaciones del año sobre las caracteristicas del semen y dimensiones testiculares de tres razas de machos cabrios en el norte de Nuevo León

Se colectaron, en los meses de julio y octubre, eyaculados de 38 machos cabríos Nubios, 9 Alpinos y 8 Granadinos mantenidos en semiestabulación. Las dimensiones testiculares de estos animales también fueron registradas. De las características del semen estudiadas, solamente la motilidad de los espermatozoides se vió afectada por el mes de colección (7 unidades más baja en julio; P<.05). El diámetro testicular fue mayor en junio (P<.05). No se observaron diferencias entre razas en cuanto a características del semen o dimensiones testiculares. Se concluyó que, a diferencia de latitudes más al norte, las características del semen de los machos cabríos de las razas anteriores, mantenidos bajo un buen plano nutricional, varían muy poco del verano al otoño en el norte del país
