The Braconidae is a worldwide well known family because of the importance of the many parasitoids it groups, which are used in the biological control of pests in agricultural crops. In the weeds bordering the potato cultures in Arteaga, Coah., Mexico entomofauna of natural enemies is unknown. The objective of this assay was to identify, at sub-family and sort levels, the insects of the Braconidae family in the weeds bordering the potato fields in Arteaga, and b) to identify the host weeds for these insects in the same sites. This work was developed from January to December 2004 in Huachichil, Coah. For this purpose, every 8 days, 2 ha were sampled, in 5 points selected at random, in each one the insect net was thrown 20 times. In the weeds bordering the potato field, 1.775 parasitoid insects, belonging to the Hymenoptera order, were collected, 153 of them belonged to the Braconidae family grouped in 16 subfamilies, and 23 sorts. The most widespread subfamilies were Blacinae (28 specimens), and Braconinae (25 specimens). The most numerous sorts were Blacus (28 specimens), and Hemibracon (21). In the weeds where hymenopterous parasitoids of the Braconidae family were collected, 26 species pertaining to 12 families were identified; Asteraceae was the most abundant, with 12 species.
