The "black scurs" is among the several diseases that infects potato crops (Solanum tuberosum L.). This pest is produced by Rhyzoctonia solani damaging during any time from seedlings to mature plants. The chemical control is frequently a failure and alternatives handling of the diseases is required.
This work deals with the use of Bacillus subtilis in the form of live bacteria or commercial endospores besides different levels of Fungibac, a biodegradable fungicide-bactericide. The experiment inclouded 10 treatments, 4 replicates on potatoes cultivar alpha, using a complete randomized design. Evaluation of Rhyzoconia solani damage was registered at 60, 90 and 110 days during crop life cycle. Means treatment comparison was done through a DMS, 0.05 level test. The best control of the disease at 60 days was obtained with live bacteria 1012 cells ml1 but 0.15g dosage of commercial endospores was so at 90 days, meanwhile the trait live bacteria 1014 cells ml1 perfomed better at 110 days.
