This work was conducted at Los Angeles Ranch during 1990 in order to study the relationship between plant species and environment, to delimitate and characterize management unities (MU), and to determinate its practical application on a rangeland level. Accordingly, 25 plant species and five environment variables were evaluated in each one of 83 sampling stations. The matrix constitued by 30 variables and 83 stations was analized using main components (MC). Three components explain 38 percent of total data variability. Furthermore, 17 of 30 variables were retained which evidenced the first component like herbaceous-shrubbery, the second like shrubbery-herbaceous, and the third like becoming to environment. There was not relationship between variables of vegetation and evironment, but it was within variables only. Four MU were delimited and characterized, where III and IV had the highest yield potential, from which a better use of rangeland can be made.
